Click each character, listen, and imitate the sound. Then cover the romaji and retrieve it from memory.

Pronunciation focus

ン rises from lower left toward upper right; ソ is written with a different stroke direction. ヲ is uncommon outside special stylistic uses. Compare standard print with careful handwriting; decorative font details are not new strokes.

Form and handwriting

  • ラ: two strokes; a short top line sits above the bent lower stroke.
  • リ: two vertical strokes; the right descends farther.
  • ル: two strokes with a hooked right finish.
  • レ: one descending stroke that turns upward.
  • ロ: three strokes forming a clean square.
  • ワ: two strokes; unlike ウ, it has no separate short top mark.
  • ヲ: three strokes with two horizontals and a final curve.
  • ン: two strokes; the short mark begins low and the long stroke rises.

Write each character slowly three times, then once from memory. Compare structure and stroke direction rather than decorative font thickness.

Mixed retrieval

The practice screen mixes roughly 70% current targets with 30% characters from mastered earlier groups. Practise both directions: character to sound and sound to character.

Mastery task

Complete recognition, listening and active recall practice. Each mode requires at least five attempts and 80% accuracy. Review the group again tomorrow before treating it as stable knowledge.
